What Causes Basement Flooding in Lloyd Harbor, NY?
Heavy Rain and Storm Overflow
Intense rainfall overwhelms drainage systems and infiltrates through foundation walls, window wells, and basement floor drains during severe weather events.
Sump Pump Failure
A failed or overwhelmed sump pump allows the water table to rise and flood the basement during periods of high groundwater saturation.
Burst or Leaking Pipes
Plumbing failures in basement water supply or drain lines release large volumes of water rapidly, potentially flooding the space within minutes.
Foundation Cracks and Seepage
Hydrostatic pressure forces groundwater through foundation cracks, block wall joints, and the cove joint where walls meet the floor.

Coverage depends on the cause of flooding and your specific policy. Internal flooding from burst pipes is generally covered under standard homeowner's policies.
